Proudly serving the Midtown Toronto/Yorkville Area for more than 30 years.
Our office has long been considered to be the leader in contact lens knowledge. With that reputation comes the expectation that we will do our very best to fit our patients with the most up to date technologies in lens designs. In order to accomplish this, we must have access to virtually every lens manufacturer's products. We also have to make it convenient for our patients to receive their contact lenses.
We have an exceptionally large array of lenses in our stock. We inventory all of the major contact lens brands. These are from Johnson & Johnson/Vistakon, Cooper Vision, Alcon, Centennial, and Bausch & Lomb. Most of the time we make it convenient so that patients can leave their appointments with their next year supply of lenses.
Contact Lens Fitting and Evaluations
Care is always taken to make the best contact lens choices for our patients. External ocular evaluation and tear analysis is used to guide us to the most comfortable and healthy contact lens choice for each patient. We will take as much time as needed to ensure the long term health and safety at each contact lens fitting.
Our doctors fit gas permeable and soft contact lens designs from all the lens manufacturers. We utilize some obscure brands of lenses for those difficult to fit patients as well.
Contact Lens Teaching
Our technicians spend as much time as necessary to make sure that our patients are comfortable inserting, removing and handling lenses. This is a skill that we don’t take lightly. Safety is our number one concern and patients are expertly trained before they leave our office with contact lenses.
Some patients will require more than one teaching session and there is no limit for those who have difficulties with lenses in the beginning. We carefully follow up with these patients to make sure that they are progressing properly with their contact lenses.
A common question from many of our Yorkville patients is when is a good time to let their child try contact lenses.
As an alternative to hard lenses of the past and rigid gas permeable lenses of today, they are generally considered to be far superior in comfort and wearability
Fortunately for those who don’t like the look, feel or inconvenience of reading glasses, there is another option.
Gas Permeable or Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses are an alternative to soft contact lenses that are made from a hard, oxygen permeable material.
Challenges such as astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes needn’t be a barrier to contact lens wear, but they do require more time and patience.
If you have astigmatism, finding the right fit for your contact lenses is essential. Speak to your eye doctor today for a full assessment to determine which type of toric lenses will work best for you.
Our patients can order lenses by telephone, fax or e-mail in our office.
